Sea Kale

In early summer, sea kale is an arresting combination of gathered blue-gray wavy leaves surrounding upward-thrusting stems just bursting with clusters of white cross-shaped fragrant flowers. It is an unusual ornamental edible perennial savored like asparagus, with the bonus of broccoli-like edible buds and sweet roots.
